Tour description: Our 8 days long ”Dobruja essentials/ Transylvanian Adventure” tour will take you through the most important places for birding in Romania. We cross a range of habitats from the remote channels of the Danube Delta, through the Black Sea coast, salty lagoons, steppes and oak forests of Dobruja to the untouched beech/pine forests and gorges of the Carpathians. Our bird list will be impressive, owing to the diverse habitats we visit, and we also will have a chance at seeing brown bear, wild boar, red deer and jackal during our journey. During these 8 days tour you will also experience the special feeling being among the pelicans and other wonders of the Danube Delta in a 3 days long excursion with a floating hotel.

2. Brown bear experience and birding in Eastern Transylvania. The Milvus Group’s pre- and post-conference tour offer
Tour description: Our 4 day-long ”Brown bear experience and birding in Eastern Transylvania” tour will provide you with an authentic large carnivore and birding experience in Romania’s Eastern Carpathians and in the mountains’ Western foothills. This tour offers more than a simple bear watch! You will gain an insight into a long-term brown bear conservation and research program, you will learn about bear biology and ecology, about the challenges the species faces and about large carnivore-human coexistence in the traditional rural landscapes of Eastern Transylvania. Throughout the tour, you will be accompanied by professional guides: the coordinator of Milvus Group’s ‘Brown bear conservation and research program in a model area in Romania’, respectively a professional ornithologist from the Milvus Group. The profit from the tour will be directed entirely towards covering the costs of the NGO’s bear program.

3. Taste of natural and cultural heritage in the Băile Tușnad and surroundings ecotourism destination (Lower Ciuc Basin, Eastern Carpathians)
Tour description: This is a trip to an ecotourism destination, where you can discover natural and cultural values, taste traditional dishes and try activities that offer you authentic experiences. Several unique targets will be visited, such as a volcanic lake, a mineral water museum, periglacial ponds and their wildlife, and brown bears and beavers will be observed in their natural habitat. Bird species and their habitats, characteristic to these cultural landscapes rich in water, will be observed as well.
